The University provides Event Liability coverage for events sponsored by UC-affiliated foundations, alumni associations, and support groups. In order to qualify for coverage under this policy, support groups must be duly registered and recognized by the respective campus Chancellor pursuant to Regents Policy on Support Groups, Campus Foundations, and Alumni Associations.
FAS Event Liability insurance provides coverage for certain liabilities arising from foundation, alumni association, and support group events and related activities. Coverage limits are up to $2.5 million per claim and $10 million aggregate. Among the types of coverage provided are:
Personal/bodily injury – covers claims against FAS Group event sponsors by third parties claiming they have been injured or harmed at the event
Business auto liability – covers claims associated with operation of UC owned vehicles
Auto/medical payments – covers medical expenses related to injuries received while driving or a passenger in a UC vehicle or UC-rented vehicle or if struck by a vehicle
Liquor liability – covers claims for damages resulting from liquor service, sales, or otherwise furnishing liquor at FAS events
Property liability – covers claims for property damage associated with FAS events
Garagekeepers liability – covers loss or damage to a third party’s car while in UC possession or on premises
